Teamwork Value Board Designs

As part of changing the value boards in the school hall, Miss Mundy has challenged each class to design a new value board around a given theme. They also have to try and create a picture in the style of a famous artist.

Year 3 were asked to think about the value of 'Teamwork' and to create a design in the style of the famous impressionist painter, Claude Monet.

Here are the children's designs.

We displayed all of the artwork around our classroom and the children were asked to vote for their favourite piece.

Congratulations goes to Aaryana for creating the winning design. We shall all work hard to turn her design into an impressive board that shall be displayed proudly in the hall.

Spy Interviews

To help us create interesting spies for our own story writing, we were given the challenge of being interviewed for a job as a spy ourselves.

We were asked the following questions:

1) Why have you applied for the job as a spy?
2) What characteristics do you think a good spy needs to have?
3) Why should we choose you to join us as a spy?

Tree Planting

Every child in Year 3 has planted a tree today around the edge of the school field.
We wonder how tall they will all grow?

German Christmas Crafts

Today, Miss Zeller and Miss Girschick told us how they celebrate Christmas in Germany. They then helped us to make Christmas Angels.

Digestion

Today, we were learning about digestion and how food travels around the body.

We watched a video that told us all about it. You can see it here...

Then we did our own demonstration of how food travels around the body. It was extremely messy but so much fun! Here are the photos.

First, the food mixes with saliva (water) and bile (orange juice) in our stomach (bag).

Then, the food travels into the intestines (tights).

After that, the food must travel through the intestines so that the nutrients are released into the body (beaker).

Next, the food leaves the intestines and travels to the rectum (paper cup).

Finally, the waste that the body does not need must leave the body - by us going to visit the toilet!
